“Relationships are the highest form of spiritual practice.”

Most of my work is with individuals and groups, but I do enjoy helping couples as well. Couples can see most dramatically the “crisis in connection” that is at the root of suffering; nowhere are our vulnerabilities more exposed than with the ones we love and have loved.

In other words, when you’re close, you can really push each other’s buttons!

My work is informed by the work of the Gottman Institute (the “Seattle Love Lab”) and Sue Johnson’s Emotion Focused Therapy, as well as the work of Dr. Seymour Boorstein, one of my beloved mentors and an analyst in Marin.

Couples work is dynamic and often intense, but very rewarding.
